The Chess Refuge was originally created to be a place for Chess Simp Community members to easily host tournaments, since there weren't any moderators to help them host yet. Since then, it has stopped doing tournaments but evolved into its own community with its own interests, ranging from chess to Scrabble to Battle Cats and more, with most of the members preferring to stay there instead of the main community.
